The Trail 100

The Trail 100 is a list of 100 UK hills which appeared in the April 2007 issue of Trail Magazine.  It is a subjective list, compiled by canvassing opinions from Trail staff and readers, taking into consideration view, difficulty, features, historical interest, etc., with some surprising entries.

Sixty of the Trail 100 hills are in England and Wales, thirty-nine in Scotland and just one in Northern Ireland.  We have already completed nineteen of these hills in 2012 and 2013, they are:

  • Snowdonia – Snowdon
  • Snowdonia – Glyder Fach
  • Lake District -Scafell Pike
  • Lake District -Scafell
  • Lake District -Skiddaw
  • Snowdonia – Tryfan
  • Snowdonia – Moel Siabod
  • Lake District -Blencathra
  • Lake District -Grasmoor
  • Lake District -High Street
  • Lake District -High Stile
  • Lake District -The Old Man of Coniston
  • Lake District -Glaramara
  • Lake District -High Raise
  • Lake District -Place Fell
  • Peak District – Kinder Scout
  • Lake District -Haystacks
  • Lake District -Helm Crag
  • Lake District -Loughrigg Fell

Which leaves forty-one hills across England and Wales as our challenge for 2014.
