The Worcestershire Beacon (1,394ft/425m) is familiar as the highest point in the Malvern Hills.  This lonely ridge is clearly visible from the M5 motorway and rises above the town of Malvern nestled at it’s feet.

Worcester BeaconMet Geoff, Jane and Jake at the village of Upper Wyche and walked North up the ridge and straight back down, admiring the views and the amazing bluebells which made the wooded glades shine.

According to the guide at the summit, if the weather had been less hazy, we could have seen Sugar Loaf (1,955ft/596m) – the mountain we climbed in the morning.
